The BLUGH: January 24, 2024

Youth is the gift of nature, but age is a work of art.
— Stanislaw Jerzy Lec

Guys! I have a mish mash (mosh?) pish pash (!!!???) of a BLUGH for you today. As per usual, the brain is scrambled THOUGH LESS SO THAN USUAL. I deleted TikTok. I deleted TikTok of my own free will. The brain melting was just too much and I needed a little break. But you know what? That didn’t stop me from melting my brains in other ways.

As a result of my puddle-like brain, this week’s BLUGH recommendations are random (chaotic?). Enjoy below:

Instagrams Accounts you should follow

Remember how I said I was still melting my brain despite being off TikTok. Well, I find that these accounts melt my brain the least. If anything, they might build the brain back up! Can you believe?

  • We Rate Dogs - are you NOT following this already? If not, you’re welcome!

  • The New Happy - mental-health focused positive imagery that just makes sense. It scratches a certain itch in my brain and I love it.

  • DATA, BUT MAKE IT FASHION - precisely what it sounds like, fashion-centered data. I don’t follow fashion so closely, but I love this account!

  • Zillow Gone Wild - Lots of original and unique design ideas here for the eccentric in us all. Seriously, I need this IG account as a coffee table book!

A Tool for Worry (STOLEN NEWSLETTER CONTENT BELOW)

You probably know that Jason, boyfriend of the BLUGH, has the There It Is podcast and newsletter! It’s awesome and you should subscribe. His latest newsletter contained info about the Worry Tree. I saw it and knew I needed to spread it to the BLUGH readers.

A Class (or 2?) to Take

You know I love a class!!!! One of my favorites, Write Like an Athlete, is coming up again on Feb 24. It’s a virtual/online class and so you can take it from wherever! I LOVE this class and the parallels drawn between athletics and writing.

Also, I found this place that does calligraphy classes in NYC. VERY CUTE! I have not done this class yet but probably will.

RIP: Revel mopeds

Did you hear that Revel, the dockless electric moped company, has retired the mopeds (but not its ride share service)? It’s the end of an era. I don’t feel too strongly about it but let me tell you when it first came to Brooklyn, I would hop on a Revel moped at any opportunity and play cowboy by attempting to herd the other vehicles on these incredibly narrow city roads. Yee haw!
