The BLUGH: January 11, 2023

Life is like a canvas. You can fill it in with vibrant colors, be it with a paintbrush or your spirit. Embrace the unpredictable, and be unafraid to let your light shine.
— quote created by ChatGPT (mentioned last week) when I requested a quote from a combined personality of Prince and Bob Ross.

It’s another Birthday BLUGH BUT WAIT KEEP READING I’LL MAKE IT WORTH IT FOR YOU. According to science, 95% of all people were born in January apparently, and one of those people is Jason Farr, mi novio.

When I hear people get lovey dovey about their significant others, I feel uncomfortable. Like, stop talking so nicely about your boyfriend/girlfriend. It’s unbecoming and ill-mannered. You sloppy pig person, stop saying kind things about someone you love who loves you back. You guys get it.

To spare my BLUGH readers from any such discomfort, I will pay tribute to Jason as if he were a candidate I were endorsing for office.

JASON FARR FOR MAYOR! Jason is kind and honest and has a million dollar smile. He cares for his community and has ideas he is ready to action to improve the atmosphere of this fine town and the lives of its citizens. His perpetuate optimism and inexhaustible empathy make him an ideal contender for our leader. He is a creator (There It Is Podcast and Newsletter), comedian, and adoring boyfriend to Justina. He loves Justina and she loves him. Their meet-cute took place at Alchemy Comedy and it was love at first sight. The night they first hung out they talked until 2 in the morning about Conan O’Brien WAIT STOP WHAT IS HAPPENING. UGH oh well. I tried. I love him and he’s the greatest and I can’t help being lovey dovey and disgusting. I am sorry, BLUGH Band (do we like “BLUGH Band”?).

I am inclined to write poetry to celebrate my loved one’s birthdays (acrostic example, haiku example), and I will make no exception here. To conclude the Body of this BLUGH (do we like “Body of this BLUGH”?), please find my poetic ode to Jason:

You love Prince and you also love Sting,

Real Genius is your favorite movie.

Every time I clean the shower and sing,

You say, “that sounds groovy.”

You’re nice to me and nice to them.

You’re too nice all the time.

Try being meaner, try to condemn,

Consider a life of crime.

We are so lucky in our nice life,

We remind ourselves every day.

Even when problems seem to be rife*,

I would not have it any other way!

*this isn’t one of those “MARRIAGE IS HARD WORK” allusions lol.

🧸 LEARNING FROM THIS WEEK: I saw this article awhile back about stuffed (stuft) animals and it is cute, much like stuffed animals. 🧸

PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION

This product was originally a Christmas gift to me from Jason but I think he would agree that it is a very Jason product. The amount of popcorn we consume on a weekly basis is incalculable. And if you’re going to eat that much popcorn, please do it right and use the Whirley-Pop. It makes the BEST popcorn. Microwave popcorn is OUT, Whirley-Pop Popcorn is IN.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

I wouldn’t say this is Jason’s favorite book, I don’t know if he has a favorite book (BAD GF!!). But Live from New York represents more than just an interesting read. It is a collection of interviews and anecdotes related to one of the most important institutions in Jason’s life, SNL. I have read it and found it to be fascinating and hope they make a newer edition with interviews with cast members and hosts involved since the books’s most recent publication in 2015.

TIKTOKS

One of my ALL TIME FAVORITE things to do with Jason is send him TikToks, let them collect in his TikTok inbox and then force him watch what I sent him while I stare at his face so I can see his reactions to what I sent him. This past week was some of my best work so here are a few highlights of great TikToks I sent Jason recently.

Cult

Subway Magic

Perfection

Peace On Earth

FEbruary 2023 (the future!!)

SHOW ALERT.

Jason’s not having a birthday party. He’s having a birthday SHOW. And the lineup is INCREDIBLE. Anyone can go. Everyone SHOULD go. It will be at Young Ethel’s on Saturday, February 11 at 3 and you BETTER be there!
