If you only say one prayer a day, make it Thank you
— Rumi

Thank you, God, for this BLUGH, you whisper to yourself as you open your email on a Wednesday morning. LOL jkjkjkjkjk but I am focusing on gratitude this week 4 real. Fear not, I am not about to be grateful AT you and list all the things I am thankful for (my gratitude is private and confidential), but last week I focused on comparing myself to others and envying their accomplishments instead of celebrating them. During that time, I asked myself questions like “By this point in my life, shouldn’t I be performing at the Super Bowl halftime show while pregnant with my second child?” and “If Patrick Mahomes is only 27 and the best QB in the league, what does that say about my life so far?” and “Is watching the Super Bowl bad for my mental health?”. I then tried to PAUSE and reflect on my lyfe and how lucky I am. Turns out: I AM PRETTY DARN LUCKY. I hope you find something(s) to be grateful for this week! If it makes you feel any kind of positive way, just know you are on someone’s list of things they are grateful for. I don’t know much but I do know that ☝.

❤️ LEARNING FROM THIS WEEK: If it is not abundantly clear, I love emojis. This learning is kind of 👵old👵 news, but 🫵you🫵 can download custom emojis for Slack from this handy site! Because I love you, instructions for how to upload to Slack are here. It 💥sparks💥 😃joy😃 in the 🚧work🚧 🌞day🌞. ❤️

PRODUCT RECOMMENDATION

I found the best smelling hand sanitizer known to mankind! I found it the old fashioned way just walking through Brooklyn. When I walked in (almost a year ago), the owner asked me to do a video review and so I did. The orange is my favorite but they are all amazing! Bonus feature: people are ALWAYS grateful to you when you have hand sanitizer at the ready.

BOOK RECOMMENDATION

If you are in search for gratitude for your circumstances in life and you find that you need perspective, I recommend reading Nothing to Envy. This beautiful book tells the stories of survivors of Kim Il-sung’s and Kim Jon-il’s North Korea. It shook me up but I am glad I read it. It’s a hard and emotional read and it left me feeling amazed at the things I take for granted and the bravery and perseverance of people.

TIKTOKS

I am always grateful for dumb and educational Tik Toks. Here are some of my favs from this past week:

PPT Genius (this is more of a plug for the account as a whole - ppt lessons abound)

Cunk (watch the show on Netflix!!!)

Gossip Alternatives

I love this so much
