The BLUGH: November 1, 2023
“If not with milk and honey, certainly this land o-erflows with gin and whiskey”
Hey guys, it’s Nascent November. Like literally in the sense that November just started today but also personally, as in I have so many projects that I am just beginning this month and hope will grow into big beautiful exploits.
We had a lil vacation in Vermont this past weekend. Had never been to Vermont and it was INTERESTING/GREAT/RELAXING/MAGICAL/BEAUTIFUL.
Here are some Vermont facts you should know:
It was briefly its own country before it finally caved and joined the union as the 14th state in 1791.
Montpelier, the state capitol, is the smallest state capitol in our country with a population of only 8,000.
Billboards are banned!!! I work in advertising, but I LOVED this.
Vermont was the last state in the United States to get a Walmart. Ok!!
95% of the population are farmers.
Vermont is cow paradise.
Vermonters can consume a lot of maple syrup and so must have a different physiology from the rest of us. I do not have said physiology, so will be undergoing a sugar detox.
EVERYONE IS SO NICE.
The main events were visiting Caledonia Spirits to try the greatest gin known to man and then going to Golden Dog Farms to experience a preview of the afterlife if you are a good person, aka heaven. We also stayed on a working farm and visited Ben & Jerry’s as one does 🤌.
I think BLUGH words can only do so much to describe such an impactful weekend, so I will let photos do the rest of the storytelling. Enjoy!!
State capitol!!! And yes, I looked up the spelling just to be sure.
Went to market? More like went to bed!!! These piggies were at the AirBnB farm where we stayed.
Cocktails for Halloween at Caledonia!
